When he’s not in the workshop, Zack tours North America as Friendly Banjos, bringing original songs, storytelling, and, of course, his banjos to families through live performances and interactive shows.

His songs and stories explore themes of self-acceptance, perseverance, patience, gratitude, and play. From affirmation songs and playful group moments to reflective pieces about breath, grounding, and big feelings, the shows invite children and their grown-ups to participate, be playful, relax, and simply be themselves. Along the way, families discover accessible tools for building confidence, navigating big feelings, and trusting their own creativity.

Influenced by Fred Rogers, Pete Seeger, Ella Jenkins, and Jim Henson, Zack’s work is rooted in a belief that everyone can make music. His performances create playful, welcoming spaces where families can connect with one another, laugh together, and leave with a little more music and magic in their lives.
